Ida y Vuelta : Basilio Georges

Tonight’s riveting performance comes to you in the form of “Ida y Vuelta” or “Round Trip”, a modern style of flamenco dance. Over the past 30 years, modern flamenco has been influenced and has incorporated elements of syncopation, jazz and Latino culture in the music, movement and footwork. Flamenco Latino was founded to explore its own unique interpretation of this Ida y Vuelta process, coming from the perspective of a NYC based group. Lead by Basilio Georges and his unusual compact Flamenco Latino quartet, which includes guitar, baritone saxophone, percussion, and singing and dancing.
