RECENT REPRESENTATIVE GRANT HIGHLIGHTS

Our CDFI was selected as one of only five in the country to mentor small Black led CDFI’s with guidance on how to build their capacity and expand their lending.

This grant will allow our CDFI to loan funds for marketing purposes to primarily Black owned businesses. Traditional underwriting rules had severely limited this type of lending prior to this grant.

GJDC was selected to lead a collaborative group of non-profits to explore ways to better serve our small business clientele through marketing and technology.

This grant is intended to strengthen the delivery of our suite of free technical assistance to our mostly MWBE small business clients.

This funding will allow us to strengthen our ability to perform the highly labor-intensive activities of our Business Services Group.

Discretionary funds from our City Council enabled GJDC to organize and execute a community-building 5.5k run celebrating our 55th year of service to the community. With our partners, this 5k race will be an annual fall event.

We received an earmark from Congressman Gregory Meeks to purchase and renovate a vacant industrial building and convert it for small batch manufacturing use. This project has also received funding commitments from New York City and New York State.
