Latest FACILITATED Projects

Station Plaza: A standout example of our impact is the $11 million transformation of a dark loading dock into an 11,000-square-foot retail space and pedestrian walkway in 2012. This ambitious redevelopment breathed new life into the area, significantly enhancing the surroundings of the AirTrain terminal and the LIRR headquarters. Now known as the LIRR Underpass, this project highlights Jamaica’s pivotal role as a key transportation hub. Building on this legacy, GJDC completed lighting improvements in 2025, further enhancing safety and accessibility for pedestrians.

The Crossing at Jamaica Station: GJDC worked with BRP Companies, a minority developer, who built 669 mixed-income affordable housing units, 50,000 sq ft of retail and community space, and 300 underground parking spots. The development features a co-generation plant and ground-floor retail, including Chipotle, with two residential towers above.

Atlantic Avenue Extensions: The Atlantic Avenue Extension was constructed along a mapped right-of-way, connecting Atlantic Avenue to 95th Avenue. A one-way loop on 94th and 95th Avenues was created, linking the Van Wyck Expressway to the Sutphin Boulevard transit hub. The project established a Western Gateway to downtown Jamaica, featuring decorative landscaping, lighting, signage, and three new neighborhood parks.
